Crocodile Fulfilment Impressed by Whistl Parcels’ Proactive Approach

Crocodile Fulfilment was established in 2002 as a multichannel retailer, bringing extensive experience across every stage of the customer journey. Well versed in the demands of eCommerce, the business now channels that expertise into a growing fulfilment operation.

A Truly Multichannel Operation

Despite the ongoing shift towards digital purchasing, the traditional retail store remains an important part of the customer journey. That’s why Cotgrave, Nottinghamshire–based Crocodile Stores recently introduced an on-site shop to complement its established eCommerce presence across its own website, eBay and Amazon.

The business has grown significantly by opening new sales channels, investing in both print and digital marketing, and diversifying its product range. Today, Crocodile Stocks leading brands including Little Tikes, Hasbro and Playmobil.

Crocodile Stores distributes more than 3,500 product lines, both directly to consumers (D2C) and via dropship fulfilment on behalf of multiple marketplaces. Order volumes range from hundreds of parcels per day during quieter periods to many thousands during the Christmas peak.

Scaling Efficiently with the Right Technology

Matt Kirby, Co-founder of Crocodile Fulfilment, explains:

“In the early stages of our business, we were creating product listings manually on Amazon and eBay. As our product range passed the 1,000 mark, it started to feel unmanageable. Bringing all of these channels together into a single platform became essential.”

That consolidation came through the Linnworks order management system - something Crocodile was pleased to discover integrates seamlessly with Whistl Parcels.

A Proactive, Hands-On Partnership

“When working directly with carriers, shipping integrations usually need to be managed independently. Whistl Parcels’ in-house software development team took full ownership of the project and were incredibly helpful - visiting our premises to make sure disruption to our operations was kept to an absolute minimum.”

“Being able to speak directly to the developer who wrote the script, and having them log in and resolve things in real time, was completely unexpected. You can’t really ask for better support than that.”

Better Tracking, Better Marketplace Performance

Thanks to Whistl Parcels’ buying power, Crocodile Fulfilment was able to introduce a tracked delivery service at the same cost they were previously paying for untracked services.

This delivered immediate operational and commercial benefits.

“We’re now saving money while also having end-to-end visibility of our deliveries. Introducing tracked services has had a really positive impact on our eBay and Amazon performance.”

“Marketplaces are extremely focused on delivery metrics. Because Whistl Parcels’ tracking feeds into Linnworks - and then through to eBay and Amazon - we’ve seen a clear improvement in our delivery statistics and overall selling performance.”

“Whistl Parcels' proactive approach has improved our delivery performance, marketplace seller status and customer feedback. It has taken a lot of weight off our customer services team, who now spend less time trying to find parcels and more time focusing on running the business.”
