For online retailers, an excellent delivery experience is no longer a “nice to have” — it’s critical to customer retention. With the number of digital buyers increasing every year, consumer behaviour has shifted permanently towards online shopping. In fact, 84% of the UK population now shops online.
This change was accelerated in 2020, when restrictions on physical retail pushed more consumers to buy non-essential goods online. With around 57 million UK internet users already purchasing online, this behaviour is widely expected to continue. By the end of 2021, the number of UK eCommerce shoppers was projected to reach 59 million — and growth has continued ever since.
