Meet the Partner: Pimento

This week, I had the pleasure of catching up with Ben Toogood, CEO and Co‑Founder of Pimento, to learn how their innovative warehouse management system (WMS) is helping businesses rethink and reshape their warehouse operations.

Who are Pimento?

Pimento is a modern, agile warehouse management system (WMS) working with businesses of all sizes. Their mid‑market solution is ideal for companies looking to scale, optimise, or transition to a more flexible warehousing setup.

At Pimento, the focus is on transforming warehouse operations to be as efficient and cost‑effective as possible. By taking the time to deeply understand each customer’s needs, the team can optimise onboarding and set businesses up for long‑term success.

Key focus areas include:

  • Enhancing productivity

  • Improving operational efficiency

  • Elevating the customer experience (CX)

  • Reducing operational costs

How did the Pimento journey begin?

Pimento’s journey began five years ago under Hutch Logistics, where the system was originally built to manage their own 3PL operation.

After privately leasing the platform and receiving strong feedback, it became clear there was wider demand in the market. That momentum led to Pimento being taken to market as a standalone WMS, built on real operational experience.

What challenges do your customers face – and how does Pimento solve them?

Every customer faces different operational challenges, but common concerns often centre around service levels, integrations and feature limitations found in other platforms.

What sets Pimento apart is its agility. The system is designed to flex around each operation, supported by a high‑quality, hands‑on service. In short, Pimento adapts to what customers need it to be, rather than forcing them to adapt to the software.

What makes Pimento unique?

Pimento is known for its:

  • Modern, user‑friendly interface

  • Agile, adaptable functionality

  • End‑to‑end operational coverage

Crucially, Pimento looks beyond the four walls of the warehouse. The platform considers the wider customer experience, enabling businesses to manage operations holistically while benefiting from industry‑leading customer support.

What’s new at Pimento?

Pimento has recently launched two new wave picking solutions, helping warehouses pick faster while reducing unnecessary steps across the operation.

Looking ahead, the team is preparing to release multi‑piece functionality, allowing multiple parcels to be shipped under a single order. This development is set to be a game‑changer for both existing customers and new businesses onboarding to the platform.

Who are your ideal customers?

Pimento defines its ideal customer profile (ICP) primarily by shipment volume:

  • Brands: 5,000+ shipments

  • 3PLs: 25,000+ shipments

That said, the platform can also be tailored for businesses with more niche or complex operational requirements below these thresholds.

Where do you see Pimento in five years?

In five years’ time, Pimento’s ambition is clear: to be the market leader for warehousing software in the UK.
